So, yes I have been missing from my blog the last few days. In those days, life here in my little corner of the world has really has been a whirlwind. You know how you have a plan for the future. You plan around things you are sure are solid. Then out of left field, here comes a life changers. I know I am being rather vague about what is going on, but that has a lot to do with the fact that I am not sure where I go from here.On a positive point, I had a job interview today. I was so nervous about the interview, I got there 45 minutes early. *smiles* I spent 30 minutes of that hanging out at Jack in the Box. I figured maybe some food would settle my upset stomach. It helped a little, and it got my mind off of how nervous I was. Then i headed over to the office. I always try to be 10 to 15 minutes early for everything. Especially job interviews. I started to gt nervous again when I got to the office and I was one of seven people waiting for interviews. It ended up being not as bad as I thought. One other person was there interviewing for the same position as I was. I started to get calmed and comfortable again, and then it went all crazy.
Crazy? Yes it went crazy. I introduced myself and we started the interview, and all seemed to be going quite good. Then he asked me about the pentagram on the inside of my wrist. OH HELL. I had meant to wear long sleeves. Not because I am ashamed of my tattoo, but more so this doesn't happen. What happen you ask? Suddenly, my interview went from questions about the job and my qualifications, to him asking me about my religious beliefs. He asked me if the tattoo was something to do with the devil. I told him of course not, and that it was a pagan spiritual symbol. Asked again about the devil because i said pagan. I once again said no it was nothing to do with the devil. He asked what pagan was then. I then had to explain that pagan is any religion that is not christian. Buddhist. Hindu. Native American. He then asked if I believed in God.
Okay, at this point i was really starting to get a little upset. What does my spiritual beliefs have to do with me answering phones at a private security company? NOTHING, but I wasn't going to loose my cool. I told him I believe in many gods not just one. He tells me he is Christian and believes in Jesus Christ. He asked what i was. I told him that I was spiritual. This seem to confuse him, so he asked where i attended church. I told him I didn't believe in organized religion of any kind. He really didn't like my answer. Then he told me he wasn't trying to put me on the spot he just wanted to understand. He told me that people are going to ask me what it means. He is right people have asked me what it means. I give them the best answer for the situation, and I felt a job interview was not the right time to say it is a pagan symbol to express that I am a practicing Witch. As i could tell he would not understand the difference between being a Witch and worshiping the devil.
He seem to realize that this was not somewhere the interview should be going, and he went back to talking about the job and my qualifications. The rest of the interview was okay. They called me back for another interview, but I told them that the way the interview was handled I would not be comfortable working for them. I was a little bummed out since this was only my second interview in the last four months, but I knew that job wouldn't be a good fit for me.
I was right. Not long after I told them I was no longer interested in working for them, I got another call. A much better job that paid more. It is a job I have always wanted, and it doesn't hurt that is just a couple blocks from my best friends work. I have an interview tomorrow afternoon at 2:30PM. I am really excited. Just the short conversation I had on the phone, she really seemed to like me. She said I sounded like a perfect fit.
So, even just today was a roller coaster ride, but isn't that the fun part. I mean i don't actually like to ride a real coaster. I just think if there was no adventure in life, what fun would it be? How would we know when life was actually good if we had never had it really bad? Most of all, would we appreciate what we have it we didn't have to work for it?
Keeping my eye on the ball. Hoping to hear a lot of good news over the next week, and in the mean time I will just enjoy life at this moment.
